Photo of the Queensboro Bridge book

Opened in 1909, the Queensboro Bridge is the longest bridge spanning the East River. The bridge helped transform Queens from a largely rural area into a bedroom and working coummunity.

Co-authored by the Greater Astoria Historical Society and the Roosevelt Island Historical Society, The Queensboro Bridge documents the creation and development of this cultural icon.

Over 100 historical photos chronicle the bridge from its origins in the dreams of a few visionaries through its construction and on to the present day.
